Drivers License Points Assessed (alpha) — For each conviction of a traffic violation or driving charge, the court notifies the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) of the conviction and a certain amount of points is assessed to your driver’s license record. A conviction occurs when you plead guilty to a charge, are found guilty at trial, mail in a penalty assessment fine amount, or fail to appear in court, in some cases.
